About
Leonore Brunner (1998*, she/her) is a Swiss composer and sound artist based between Bern and Lausanne. Working at the intersection of ambient, drone and experimental electroacoustic music, she develops a musical practice rooted in harmonic layers, layering, fragments of voice, organic textures and field recordings.
Her work explores the relationships between sound and space. Through her compositions and sound installations, she explores phenomena of echo and resonance, as well as the visual potential of sound, moving between materials, forms and shifting landscapes. Attentive to active listening and variations in attention, her practice oscillates between presence, absence and strangeness.
She also develops collaborations with different artists through performances, installations and audiovisual projects. Her work has been presented in Venice, Freiburg, Zurich and Bern, as well as in collaboration at the Istituto Svizzero in Palermo, Arsenic in Lausanne and the Klöntal Triennale in Glarus.
Alongside her artistic practice, Leonore develops a curatorial project dedicated to experimental music through her association Bivouac and is a member of Transition Radio collective in Fribourg.
